How much does a bathroom renovation cost?
14 May 2026 — 6 min read

Most complete bathroom renovations in Buckinghamshire fall between £10,000 and £25,000. That is a wide range, and the reason is rarely the sanitaryware.
The cost of a bathroom is driven far more by what happens behind the tiles than by what sits in front of them.
Where the money goes
Labour typically accounts for the largest share. A bathroom involves a plumber, an electrician, a tiler, a plasterer and a decorator, each needing to arrive in the right order.
Moving the soil pipe, relocating the shower or removing a wall will move the number more than upgrading a tap ever will.
Where it is worth spending
Waterproofing, extraction and setting out. None of them photograph well and all of them determine whether the room still looks right in eight years.
Brassware is the other honest upgrade — it is touched daily, and the difference between entry-level and good is immediately obvious in the hand.
